Terms of Service
Simple terms for a simple service. Four Words is a free, private daily devotional text message. By receiving it, you agree to the following.
Effective date: April 16, 2026
What Four Words is
Four Words is a daily Reformed Christian devotional sent by SMS. Each day's message contains a theological quote and a short four-word phrase. Messages are sent once per day to recipients who have been personally invited and have verbally agreed to receive them.
Who provides the service
Four Words is provided by Matthew Arozian, a sole proprietor. See the Carrier Notice for full operator details, or the Contact page for how to get in touch.
Cost
Four Words is provided at no cost to recipients. The sender bears the cost of message delivery. However, standard message and data rates from your mobile carrier may apply to messages you receive.
How to join
Four Words is invitation-only. The sender personally invites each recipient after in-person or phone conversation and obtains verbal consent before adding them to the list. A request-to-join form is available on this site, but it is a request only — no one is added to the list until the sender has personally confirmed consent.
How to leave
You may opt out at any time by replying STOP to any Four Words message, or by submitting a request with "OPT OUT" in the message field. Opt-out requests are processed immediately.
Message frequency and content
Four Words sends one message per recipient per day, sent each morning. Messages contain only a theological quote, an attribution, and a short phrase. No links, no promotional content, no calls to action. The sender reserves the right to pause or skip sends at their discretion.
Theological content
Four Words quotes authors from within Reformed Christian theology. The content reflects the sender's theological convictions. By receiving Four Words, you are not required to hold any particular theological position — but the content of the messages will reflect Reformed doctrine. If this is not suitable for you, please opt out.
Responses to messages
You may reply to Four Words messages. The sender reads replies personally, though no automated responses are provided. Replies other than STOP/HELP/UNSUBSCRIBE are not required — the sender is not monitoring the inbox for real-time communication. For urgent matters, email the sender directly.
No warranty
Four Words is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind. The sender does not guarantee uninterrupted service. Messages may occasionally be delayed, dropped, or fail to deliver due to carrier issues, technical failures, or operator discretion. The sender is not liable for any consequences of missed or delayed messages.
Acceptable use
By receiving Four Words, you agree not to:
- Forward Four Words messages in a way that would imply the recipient has been opted in
- Use the sender's phone number for any purpose other than receiving Four Words
- Attempt to disrupt or interfere with the service
